Maintenance
The FABA™ fall protection device is
virtually maintenance-free. The fall arrest
slider should be cleaned, if necessary,
with a dry or moistened cloth after being
used and left to dry before being put away.
Do not leave it out to dry in the sun or
in the vicinity of an open
fi
re or not any-
where where it might be affected by heat.
If the slider needs to be disinfected, please
contact TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH for
further information.
1. Entries and exits
These enable you to leave the climbing
protection system at the stipulated posi-
tions.
Removal
– Move the slider to the turnable rail
section.
– Pull the rear ratchet knob.
– Turn the rail section to the right and
remove the slider.
– Turn the rail section back until it
automatically locks into the vertical
position.
Insertion
– Pull the rear ratchet knob.
– Turn the rail section to the right.
– Insert the slider into the rail section.
– Turn the rail section back until it
automatically locks into the vertical
position.
2. Permanent catches
These prevent you from exiting the clim-
bing protection at the ends of the climbing
path (including horizontal sections) and at
gates. They may not be removed.
3. Detachable catches
These prevent you from accidentally lea-
ving the climbing protection. It is possible
to deliberately detach yourself from the
system after opening the catch, but this is
only permitted if you have previously taken
other safety precautions against falling.
Activation
System A12
– Pull and hold the knob behind the
rail. The slider can now pass.
System AL2
– Press the lever backwards and hold.
The slider can now pass.
Storage
The FABA™ fall arrest slider must be
stored at temperatures between -30 °C
and +60 °C when it is dry and protected
against atmospheric conditions and ag-
gressive materials.
4. Resting platform
You can pass by the resting platform
when the access
fl
ap is folded up. You can
fold the access
fl
ap down and use it as a
resting platform if necessary. If the resting
platform is used as a standing location
from which other work will be carried out,
then the user must also safeguard himself
against falling using an additional safety
device that is independent from the guided
type fall arrester.
Activation
– To fold it out, swivel the platform
upward and forward until it lies on
the rung.
– To fold it in, swivel the platform
upward and to the rear until it reaches
the stop.
