Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross

Traffic Alert (RCTA)

(if equipped)

* RCTA only

The system is designed to use radar sensors to detect vehicles traveling in the

Prius’ blind spot. If a vehicle is detected, the driver will be alerted via the outside

rear view mirror indicator on the detected side.

While in reverse, when a vehicle approaching from the right or left rear of the

Prius is detected, the outside rear view mirror indicators will flash and a buzzer

will sound. Also, the RCTA icon for the detected side will be displayed on the

multimedia display.
