Before jacking, make sure you have a proper jack point
and solid footing. Once the vehicle has been elevated clear of the
obstruction, place rocks or fallen branches under the tires for
traction or for needed height, then lower the vehicle and drive
off.

Another option is to “pole-vault” the elevated vehicle
by pushing it off the jack onto solid ground.

When making a water crossing, walk the route first to
determine depth, bottom firmness and obstacle location. Know
