Fitting instructions for fog
headlights in KTM LC8 fairings
These instructions reflect our current knowledge. We do not assume any liability for their accuracy. Subject to technical amendments.
Connecting the fog headlights:
Fasten the relay to the fairing support. Run the brown
and red cables (with fuse) along the right-hand side of
the frame to the battery (brown:earth; red: positive).
Shorten the cables as necessary and attach the
cable connector ring. Run the red/blue two-core
cable to the fog headlights and the switch to the
handlebars. Attach the switch to the left-hand side of
the handlebars next to the control fittings, using the
supplied clamp, two LiKo M4x10 screws and two M4
nuts. Position the switch in such a way that it can be
controlled vertically.
Shorten the blue and red cables as necessary
(connecting fog headlights) and pull them through
the slots provided on the underside of the fog lamp's
back cover. Now attach the supplied flat connectors
to the cables. Now attach the blue cable in the
headlight to the outside right connector (ground).
Attach the red cable directly to the bulb. Use a cable
tie to secure the red cable to the light terminals. Now
pull the cover over the headlight. Run the yellow
cable to the dipped beam headlamp and connect it
directly to the green cable located behind the lamp's
connector using cable ties.
To make headlight assembly easier, you can shorten
the yellow cable to the original height of
theconnector plug to the wiring harness and use a
plug-in connection. Replace the original headlight on
the fairing support, connect up the battery and test
and adjust headlights.
