LFE/Sub Out Connection

:  This is the most popular method for connecting a subwoofer and is used

with most stereo receivers, surround receivers, and some integrated amplifiers.

This method requires setup in the bass management section of the receiver to determine which

frequencies are sent to the subwoofer and speakers.  Speakers can be set to large or small, the

crossover point can be set, and even the volume output are all regulated within the bass management

section.  Set Volume to 80%, Crossover to its highest point, and Phase at 0 on the subwoofer when

using it in conjunction with any type of bass management or room correction software.

Pre-Out connection:

This method is typically used with integrated amplifiers and some stereo

receivers.  The speakers will continue to reproduce bass frequencies and you must use the

subwoofer’s controls to find the perfect blend between it and the speakers.

Stereo Pre-Out (FIG 2)

:  If the amplifier/receiver is equipped with stereo (Right and Left) Pre Outputs

then it can be connected to the subwoofer’s right and left inputs with a stereo RCA wire.  This is a

common connection with integrated amplifiers.

FIG 1

Prior to making any connections ensure the power switch is set to OFF and the VOLUME dial is set

to its minimum value.

CONNECTIONS

LFE/Sub Out Connection (FIG 1):

This is the simplest and most common connection. It works for any

receiver or amp with a dedicated subwoofer output. Use a subwoofer cable to connect the

amp/receiver’s SUB or LFE Output to the L/LFE (Low Frequency Effect) input on the sub.

FIG 2

Caution!

This subwoofer has electronics built into the cabinet. Do not place the cabinet next to

sources of heat such as furnace registers, radiators, etc. Do not place the unit near sources of

excessive moisture, such as evaporative coolers, humidifiers, etc. The power cord should be routed in

such a way that it will not be walked on, pinched, or compressed in any way that could result in
