Installing the Display Assembly
To install the computer’s display, follow the steps below and refer to Figures 4-18 through 4-20.
1. Place the display assembly on the computer making sure the brackets on the display fit in
front of the corresponding brackets on the computer.
2. Replace the four M2.5x6 silver screws on the back and inside hinge areas of the computer
to secure the display assembly to the chassis (Figure 4-18).
CAUTION: If you replace a cable with a new one, be sure to bend and route it as indicated
in the following diagrams so that it fits snugly and will not be pinched by the top cover or
other components (Figures 4-19 and 4-20).
3. Connect and route the FL inverter cable and the two display cables to their respective
connectors on the system PCB (Figure 4-19).

4. Reseat the protective metal plate, making sure the holes for screws match corresponding
holes on the computer and the ground cables are routed above the plate (Figure 4-14).
5. Replace the two M2x3 black screws securing the protective metal plate to the FDD, two
M2.5x6 screws securing the plate to the HDD, and the eight M2.5x6 screws and one
M2.5x10 screw along the plate’s rim securing the plate, support bracket, and ground
cables to the computer (Figure 4-14).
