4.10 Memory module

4 Replacement Procedures

PORTEGE A200 Maintenance Manual (960 -499)

4-25

Installing a memory module

To install a memory module(s), confirm that the computer is in boot mode. Then perform the
following procedure. (See Figure 4-16.)

Turn up the

insulator

and insert the

memory module

into the connector of the

computer slantwise with the label

up.

Push down the

memory module

until it is latched firmly

Caution:

The power must be turned off when you insert the memory module. Inserting a

memory module with the power on risks damaging the module or the computer
itself.

Do not install a memory module in slot B only. Use slot A prior to slot B.
Otherwise, the computer or the memory may be damaged.

Never press hard or bend the memory module.
