5. Removing the compressor and the 4-way valve
(1) Remove the service panel (Refer to 1).
(2) Remove the top panel, the cabinet, and the back
panel (Refer to 1).
(3) Recover gas from the refrigerant circuit.
NOTE
: Recover gas from the pipes until the pressure
gauge shows 0 kg/cm
2
(0 MPa).
(4) Disconnect the compressor lead wire from terminal of
the compressor (U, V, W).
(5) Disconnect the outdoor control P.C. board
connectors:
CN661, CN665, CN681 CN711, CN712, CN791,
CN792, CN793, CN795, CN931
(6) Remove the screws of the electrical parts, and remove
the electrical parts (Photo 4).
(7) Remove the propeller fan.
(8) Remove the screws of the separator, and remove the
separator (Photo 7).
(9) Remove the sound proof felt (Photo 7).
(10) Detach the brazed parts of the compressor suction
and discharge pipes.
(11) Remove the compressor nuts and remove the com-
pressor.
(12) Detach the brazed parts of 4-way valve and pipe.
6. Removing the expansion valve
(1) Remove the service panel (Refer to 1).
(2) Remove the top panel, the cabinet, and the back
panel (Refer to 1).
(Gas recovery is not required if the unit is pumped
down.)
(3) Remove the electrical parts for removing LEV E (Photo
4, 8).
(4) Remove the LEV coils.
(5) Detach the brazed parts of expansion valves and
pipes.
