3. Rotate the blades to ensure that there is at least 1/8 inch
(3 mm) clearance between the blades and baffles.
A blade that is bent or damaged could break apart
and could seriously injure or kill you or
bystanders.
•
Always replace a bent or damaged blade with a
new blade.
•
Never file or create sharp notches in the edges
or surfaces of the blade.
Warning
Note: If a kicker interferes with a blade, reposition it in the
mower.
4. Using existing hardware, make sure all holes in deck
are plugged with a nut and bolt.
5. Turn mower deck over and install belt covers.
6. Install the mower deck onto the traction unit and level
the mower deck. Refer to Leveling the Mower at Three
Positions on page 42.
7. Using existing hardware, make sure all holes in deck
are plugged with a nut and bolt.
Open holes in the mower expose you and others to
thrown debris which could cause injury.
•
Never operate mower without hardware
mounted in all holes in mower.
•
Install hardware in mounting holes when
mulching baffle is removed.

Removing the Recycler
Baffle
1. Thoroughly clean the mower.
2. Remove the lock nuts from the top and center of right
side baffle (Fig. 22). Lower baffle and slide out of
discharge opening to remove.
Note: Only the right side baffle needs to be removed for
side discharge mowing.
3. Install the previously removed bolts and locknuts in the
open holes of the mower for safety (Fig. 22).
