Deck Belt Replacement
Deck Belt Removal
1. Park the machine on a level surface and disengage the PTO. Stop the
engine, wait for all moving parts to stop and remove the key. Engage the
parking brake.
2. Disconnect the battery by removing the negative cable first, then the positive
cable from the battery.
3. Remove the LH and RH belt guards from the deck.
4. Remove the floor pan from the chassis.
5. Remove the 3/8 inch lock nut securing the belt guides to the idler arm asm.
CAUTION
Use caution when preforming this service procedure, spring is under
high tension. Personal injury or property damage may occur.
6. Using a 3/8 inch rachet or breaker bar, pull the idler arm clockwise to release
spring tension.
7. Remove the deck belt from the deck and clutch pulleys.
Deck Belt Installation
1. Install the deck belt to the deck and clutch pulleys.
2. Using a 3/8 inch rachet or breaker bar, pull the idler arm counterclockwise
to add spring tension.
3. Install the 3/8 inch lock nut securing the belt guides to the idler arm asm.
4. Install the floor pan to the chassis.
5. Install the LH and RH belt guards to the deck.
6. Connect the battery by installing the positive cable first, then the negative
cable to the battery.
Mower Deck Replacement
Mower Deck Removal
1. Park the machine on a level surface and disengage the PTO. Stop the
engine, wait for all moving parts to stop and remove the key. Engage the
parking brake.
2. Disconnect the battery by removing the negative cable first, then the positive
cable from the battery.
3. Set the height-of-cut to 4 inches.
4. Remove the deck belt. Deck Belt Replacement (page 6–4)
5. Place blocks under the deck. Remove the height-of-cut pin to allow the deck
to rest on the blocks.
