Installing the Hinge and
Cover
Parts needed for this procedure:
1 Glove box cover
1 Latch assembly
1 Thumb pull
1 Lock washer
1 Nut
1 Hinge
6 Rivets
1 Foam strip
Procedure
1. Install the latch assembly, thumb pull, lock
washer, and nut to the glove box cover with the
latch facing up as shown in
Figure 1 .

2. Install the hinge to the back of the glove box
cover using 3 rivets as shown in
Figure 2 .

3. Align the glove box cover to the glove box; using
the bottom of the hinge as a template, mark the
location of the center and outer holes on the
bottom of the dash.
4. Using the outer and center marks made in step
3 as a template, drill 3 holes with 3/16 inch
diameters to fit the rivets.
5. Clean any burrs from the drilled holes.
6. Install the bottom hinge to the dash using 3
rivets as shown in
Figure 3 .

7. Remove the tape from the adhesive back of the
foam strip and adhere the strip to the border of
the glove box cover (
Figure 3 ).
