Bagging the Clippings
Use the grass bag when you want to collect grass and
leaf clippings from the lawn.
If the side-discharge chute is on the machine, remove
it and lock the side-discharge door; refer to
Removing
the Side-Discharge Chute (page 17) .
Installing the Grass Bag
1. Route the starter rope around the lower-rope
guide (
Figure 22 ).

Note:
The lower-rope guide releases the starter
rope when you pull the recoil-start handle.
2. Raise and hold up the rear door ( Figure 23 ).

3. Pull out the rear plug ( Figure 23 ).
4. Hang the upper front edge of the bag from the
grass-bag pins on the notches of the handle
brackets (
Figure 24 ).

5. Lower the rear door.
Removing the Grass Bag
1. Route the starter rope around the lower-rope
guide (
Figure 25 ).

2. Raise and hold up the rear door.
3. Lift the grass bag up by the handle off the
notches of the handle brackets.
4. Install the rear plug ( Figure 26 ).
