3. Move the machine to the front of the stump and
engage the parking brake.
4. Move throttle up to the E
NGAGE
position. The
cutting wheel will begin rotating.
5. Swing the cutting wheel to 1 side ( Figure 9 ),
then lower it approximately 1 to 2.5 cm (1/2 to 1
inch) into the front-top corner of the stump.

6. Using a sweeping motion, swing the cutting
wheel back and forth, lowering the cutting wheel
approximately 1 to 2.5 cm (1/2 to 1 inch) before
each sweep, until you have removed the front
portion of the stump to ground level (A through
D in
Figure 10 ).
7. Raise the cutting wheel, release the parking
brake, and move the machine forward a few
centimeters (inches). Engage the parking brake.
8. Repeat steps 5 and 7 until you have completely
removed the stump (E through H in Figure 10 ).
9. Move throttle to the D
ISENGAGE
position, push
the handle down enough to raise the cutting
wheel off the ground. Wait for the cutting wheel
to stop rotating then release the parking brake
and pull the machine away from the stump.
Note:
Do not let the front of the machine touch
the ground until the cutting wheel has stopped
turning.
10. Shut off the engine; refer to Shutting Off the
Engine (page 10) .
Lifting the Machine
Use the handles shown in Figure 11 as lift points.
