Adjusting the Cutting Height
WARNING
Adjusting the cutting height may bring you into
contact with the moving cutting unit, causing
serious injury.
• Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts
to stop.
• Wear gloves while handling the cutting unit.
CAUTION
If the engine has been running, the muffler will be
hot and can severely burn you. Keep away from the
hot muffler.
Adjust the cutting height as desired.
1. Turn the fuel switch to the off position.
2. Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.
3. Tilt the machine on its left side.
4. Wearing protective gloves , remove the nylon cutting
line.
5. Reposition the spacers to the desired height, then
reinstall the nylon cutting line.

Starting the Engine
1. Open the fuel tank vent by turning the vent knob at
least 2 or 3 turns counterclockwise.
2. Turn the fuel valve to the on position (Figure 12).

3. Place your foot on the deck and tilt the machine
towards you (Figure 13).

4. Pull the recoil start handle.
Note:
Do not allow the starter grip to snap back
against the engine. Return it gently to prevent damage
to the starter.
Note:
If the machine does not start after several attempts,
contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
