Pump grease into each fitting as follows:
•
For the pillow-block bearings, pump 1 shot of
grease into each fitting (Figure 32).
•
For the trunnions, pump several shots of grease
into each fitting until it starts to ooze out of the
bearing housing (Figure 32).
Important:
Pump grease in slowly and carefully
to prevent damage to the bearing seals.
3.
Wipe up any excess grease.
Lubricating the Motor Bearings
Service Interval:
Every 6,000 hours
Grease type:
electric-motor bearing grease
1.
Clean around each grease fitting with a rag.
2.
Pump 1 or 2 shots of grease into each fitting (Figure
33).
Important:
Do not over-lubricate the motor.

Lubricating the Drive Chain
Service Interval:
Every 40 hours—Lubricate the drive chain
with a non-sticky chain lubricant.
Apply a chain lubricant that is non-sticky to help prevent dirt
and abrasive particles from sticking to the chain.
