Servicing the Air-cleaning
System
Important:
Do not remove the elements from the
machine to check for dirty filters; use the following
procedure instead.
Important:
Do not replace the old air-cleaner filter with
a filter that is more than 5 years old; check the date of
manufacture on the end cap of the element.
Note:
Every time you service the air-cleaner system, ensure
that all hose connections and flanges are air tight. Replace
all damaged parts.
•
Check the air-cleaner body for damage which could cause
an air leak. Replace it if it is damaged. Check the whole
intake system for leaks, damage or loose hose clamps.
Also, inspect the rubber intake hose connections at the air
cleaner and the turbo to make sure that the connections
are complete.
•
Service the air-cleaner filter only when “Check Air Filter”
is displayed on the screen. Changing the air filter before
it is necessary only increases the chance of dirt entering
the engine when the filter is removed.
•
Be sure that the cover is seated correctly and seals with
the air-cleaner body.
