Installing the Lint Screen
When the SWB 26/8 arrives you will notice a metal lint screen packed inside the debris bin. The lint
screen is to be installed and used when you are operating the SWB 26/8 on carpeting. The lint screen
keeps carpet fibers and lint from clogging the filter.
To install the lint screen:
Open the debris bin by lifting the debris bin lock and pull back. Remove the lint screen that
was stored inside the debris bin during shipment.
2. Loosen the two wing nuts holding the filter mount in place and remove the filter assembly.
3. Remove the pleated filter from the mounting bracket and place the lint screen in the filter
mount
4. Place the pleated filter back into the filter mount (place it on top of the lint screen so that when
the assembly is reinstalled, the lint screen is the first filter facing down into the collection
hopper).
5. Put the filter assembly back into the unit. Be sure to hand tighten the two wing nuts that hold
the filter assembly in place.
Once the lint screen is installed you do not have to uninstall it when sweeping both carpet and hard floor
surfaces. The lint screen will not reduce the effectiveness of the SWB 26/8 when operating on hard floor
surfaces.
If your customer is not operating the SWB 26/8 on carpeting, they do not need to install the lint screen.
Tornado recommends, however, that your customer retain the lint screen in the event they need to
operate the SWB 26/8 on carpet at a later date.
