• Never use the soldering gun to heat liquids.
• Never solder live parts or components. Always switch off voltage beforehand.
Caution! Touching or soldering capacitors (or similar components) or connected
wiring/conductors may result in fatal electric shock! Capacitors may still be charged
even hours after the supply voltage has been turned off!
• Use suitable fasteners to fasten the work piece where necessary. This frees up both
hands for soldering.
• Keep your workplace clean.
• Work only when your workplace is sufficiently ventilated.
• Make sure there is sufficient ventilation while soldering. Soldering and flux fumes
may be hazardous to health.
• Wash your hands thoroughly after working with solder. This applies especially when
working with leaded solder.
Do not place solder in your mouth. Do not eat or drink while soldering.
• Wear suitable protective clothing and eyewear while using soldering. Liquid solder,
solder splash, etc. may result in serious burns or damage to eyes!
• Never use soldering grease, soldering acid or similar soldering aids. The use of
such aids results in weak solder joints and may cause damage to the soldering tip.
The use of tubular solder with flux core is recommended.
• Hold the soldering gun by the handle only while soldering. Risk of burning!
• Use the product only on nonflammable surfaces. Pay attention to any neighboring
materials that might be damaged by heat.
• Place the soldering gun down on the included stand when it is not required (e.g. dur-
ing breaks or while it is heating/cooling).
• If the power adapter is visibly damaged, do not touch it. Risk of fatal injury due to
electric shock!
First remove the power outlet to which the product is connected from the power
supply (flip off the fuse and/or automatic circuit breaker and then turn off the re-
sidual current operated circuit breaker to disconnect the power outlet at all phases).
Then disconnect the power plug from the mains outlet. Cease use of the product
and take it to a specialist workshop for repair or dispose of it in accordance with
environmental regulations.
• Have maintenance or repairs done by qualified personnel only.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. There is also
a risk of lethal electric shock!
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting and using it. This
may take several hours.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the location where the product is placed,
and during transport:
- dust or flammable gases, vapors or solvents
- strong vibrations, shocks, blows
- strong magnet fields, e.g. in the vicinity of machines or speakers
• Unplug the product from the power supply for extended periods of disuse (e.g.
storage).
• When setting up the device, ensure that the cable does not get bend or crushed.
• Handle the product with care; impacts, blows or falling from even low heights can
cause damage.
• Should a safe operation of the product be no longer possible, take the product out of
operation and secure it against accidental use. Then have the product be checked
by an expert.
Safe operation is no longer guaranteed when:
- the device is visibly damaged
- the device no longer works
- the device was stored for an extended period under adverse conditions
- if the product was damaged during transport.
• Do not leave packaging material unattended, as children could use it as a toy creat-
ing hazardous situations.
• For installations in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations
for electrical systems and equipment of the government safety organization or the
corresponding authority for your country.
• If you have any further questions that have not been considered in these operating
instructions, please contact us or any other expert.
