Operation
• To save power, the water flow meter switches off automatically after 1 minute if no flow is
measured. Briefly press the control button (3) to switch on.
The total flow rate and the internal values for calculating the average daily flow rate
remain stored after automatic shut-off.
• You can switch between the different displays by briefly pressing the control button.
1 Flow rate per minute (automatically extrapolated value, depending on the current flow rate)
If you see this display, you can switch between L/Min (litres per minute) and GAL/min
(gallons per minute) by pressing and holding the control button for approx. 2 seconds.
The set unit (L or GAL) is also used for the following displays (2, 3, and 4).
2 Measured flow rate or water consumption
Press and hold the control button for approx. 2 seconds to manually reset the value (if the
water flow meter switches off automatically after 1 minute, the value is automatically reset
to “0”).
3 Average daily flow rate or water consumption, averaged over the past 7 days; counting/cal
-
culation is done on the next day
Press and hold the control button for approx. 2 seconds to manually reset the value.
4 Previous total flow rate or total water consumption
Press and hold the control button for approx. 2 seconds to manually reset the value.
Overwintering
The water flow meter must be put into storage when temperatures are around or below freez
-
ing. Allow residual water to drain out. Remove the battery from the battery compartment and
store the water flow meter in a dry, frost-free location over the winter.
In the event of frost, the water will freeze inside the flow meter; the higher volume of
ice will destroy the watering timer and void the warranty!
Cleaning and maintenance
There are no serviceable parts in the water flow meter – never open or disassemble it (except
for inserting/replacing the battery as described in these operating instructions). Maintenance,
repair and associated dismantling may only be carried out by a specialist or a specialist work
-
shop.
Use a dry, clean, soft and lint-free cloth to clean the outside.
Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as
these may damage the housing or prevent the product from functioning properly.
Disposal
a) Product
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable
regulatory guidelines.
Remove the inserted battery and dispose of it separately from the product.
b) Batteries
You are required by law to return all used batteries. They must not be placed in household
waste.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with
these symbols to indicate that the disposal of them in the household waste is forbid
-
den. The abbreviations for heavy metals in batteries are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury,
Pb=Lead (marked on batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g., under the rubbish bin
symbol shown to the left).
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipality, our
stores or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to environmental protection.
