e) Work Safety
•
Ensure that there is sufficient lighting.
•
Ensure proper ventilation during soldering.
Vapours can be harmful to your health.
•
Wash your hands thoroughly after working with
solder. This is particularly important when using
lead-based solder.
•
Do not put soldering alloys into your mouth. Do
not eat or drink during soldering.
•
Wear suitable protective clothing and safety
goggles when soldering. Liquid/splashing solder
may cause serious burns or eye damage.
•
For installations in industrial facilities, follow the
accident prevention regulations for electrical
systems and equipment of the government
safety organization or the corresponding
authority for your country.

Setup the Stand
•
Set the stand by gently bending the holders up 90º
as shown.
•
Do not over bend or adjust too many times as this
may break the metal.
Operation
1. Connect the power plug to a mains power socket.
2. Turn the power switch ON
(4)
.
-
It takes approximately 18 minutes for the tip to heat up completely.
-
Place the soldering iron its stand when taking breaks or not in use.
3. Turn the power switch OFF and disconnect from the power supply when finished using. Allow to
completely cool down before storing it away.
Replace / Rotate the Tip
1. Make sure the soldering iron is disconnected from the power supply and completely cool.
2. Use a crosshead screwdriver and loosen all the tip fastening screws
(2)
.
Loosen the screws just enough for the tip to freely rotate or be removed.
3. Rotate the curved tip to the desired position or replace it.
4. Fasten the tip by tightening all the screws.
The screws should be tight enough so that the tip does not move during normal use.
Maintenance and Care
•
Always keep the tip tinned before switching off or storing for any period of time.
•
Never clean the tip with coarse, abrasive materials like files.
•
If oxide forms on the tip, lightly rub with abrasive paper, wipe clean, then immediately reheat and re-tin
the tip to prevent oxidation of the wettable surface.
•
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can
cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
