Operation
a) Button description
Button Function
• Briefly press this button to turn on the product.
• Press and hold the button for approx. 2 seconds to turn off the product.
Audio
• Press this button to activate/deactivate the acoustic signal function. If activated,
the acoustic signal indicator will appear in the upper part of the display.
• The acoustic signal will sound for angles of 0°, 45° and 90° (±0.5°).
REF
• Press this button to determine a reference angle. The letter S will subsequently
appear in the upper part of the display.
• Press the button again to deactivate the reference angle function.
CAL
• Use this button to calibrate the product. Refer to the next sub chapter
“d) Calibration” for more information.
Unit
• Press this button to select the desired measuring unit (degree, percent, mm/m,
IN/FT).
Hold
• Press this button to freeze the current measurement on the display. The letter H
will subsequently appear in the upper part of the display.
• Press the button again to deactivate the Hold function.
b) Conducting measurements
• Switch on the product.
• Place the product on the surface under test. The display will show the measured value.
• Switch off the product after completing the measurement.
c) Automatic power-off
The product will turn off automatically after 3 minutes of inactivity.
d) Calibration
Calibrate the product in case it has been dropped.
• Place the product on a flat surface with a maximum tilt of 5°. Make sure the display is facing
you.
• Press and hold the CAL button.
• Release the button once the CAL1 indicator appears in the display.
• Wait for the measured value to be displayed.
• Rotate the product horizontally by 180°, in order for the rear side to face towards you. Doing
so, the product must be at the exact same spot as before.
• Press and hold the CAL button.
• Release the button once the CAL2 indicator appears in the display.
• Wait for the CAL2 indicator to flash three times. After that, the measured value will be
displayed again.
• The calibration process is then completed.
The “Err” indicator appearing in the display indicates a malfunction. Turn off the
product and then repeat the calibration process.
If the malfunction occurs again, place the product on another surface.
Tips and notes
• When freezing the measurement in the display (Hold function), you can easily convert the
measured value into another unit by pressing the Unit button.
• Use the reference angle function to transfer an angle from one object to another. This function
will set the selected reference angle to zero.
• When turning the product upside down, the displayed value will be rotated by 180°.
Maintenance and cleaning
• The product is maintenance-free except for potential battery replacement and occasional
cleaning.
• Do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaners.
• Never submerge the product in water to clean it.
• To prevent scratch marks, do not apply too much force on the surface during cleaning.
• Use a dry, clean, soft and lint-free cloth to clean the housing.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household
waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable
regulatory guidelines.
Remove any inserted (rechargeable) batteries and dispose of them separately from
the product.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labeled with this symbol to indicate that
disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals
involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on (rechargeable)
batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used batteries/rechargeable batteries can be returned to collection points in your
municipality, our stores or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
