Chapter 3: Hooking it up
3.1 Charging the Battery
Tommyca can be charged by either:
1. Connecting it to your c
omputer’s USB port with the supplied cable.
a. The computer must be switched on to charge the device.
b. The battery will charge automatically whenever the device is connected and the
computer is on.
2. Connecting it directly to an electric wall outlet using the tommyca Universal USB
Power Adaptor
a. Only use the power adaptor supplied with the device. (TCS 3200 only)
Note:

The battery icon will flash during charging. When the icon stops flashing the unit is fully
charged.

Fully charge the battery before using it the first time.

A full charge takes approximately 5 hours.

Using the player while charging may lengthen the charging time.
CAUTION:

Do not disassemble, crush, short-circuit or incinerate your battery as it may cause fire,
injury, burns, or other hazards.

As with all batteries, proper disposal is essential. Check with your local waste or
recycling company to determine the disposal method for your area. Putting any battery
directly in the trash harms the environment.
