SERVICING YOUR OUTBOARD MOTOR

<Inspection>

1. Remove the engine cover (p. 88).

2. Looking through the translucent

strainer cup, check the fuel filter

with water separator for water

accumulation or sediment.

If the fuel filter with water separator

is clogged, refer to fuel filter with

water separator replacement

procedure (p. 102) to remove the

filter and clean it.

Gasoline is highly flammable and

explosive.

You can be burned or seriously

injured when handling fuel.

• Stop the engine and let it cool

before handling fuel.

• Keep heat, sparks, and flame

away.

• Handle fuel only outdoors.

• Keep away from your vehicle.

• Wipe up spills immediately.
