GROUNDED PLUG
To reduce the risk of electric shock this appliance has a grounded plug.
(2 blades and 1 pin) If the plug does not fit fully into the electrical
outlet contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way
or use an adaptor.
BEFORE FIRST USE
1. Read all instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
2. Remove all packaging.
3. Install the Filter. (See Care and Cleaning section)
4. Water boiled for the first time should be discarded.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Install the Filter, if not already in place.
2. Open the Lid by pressing the cover release button at the top of the
handle. Fill the Kettle through the Lid opening, with a minimum of
.5 litres / quarts of water.
DO NOT attempt to fill the Kettle while it is on the Power Base.
DO NOT use for other than boiling water. Other liquids will contaminate
the interior of the Kettle.
DO NOT fill past the 2.0 litres/quarts, MAX level indicated on the kettle.
Overfilling may cause water to spill out when boiling.
3. Close Lid. Note: The Lid should not be opened when the Kettle is hot.
4. Place Kettle on the Base making sure it is correctly engaged on its base.
5. Plug Power Base cord into a 120V AC wall outlet. Note: Never plug
power base with empty Kettle into the electrical outlet.
6. Depress the On/Off Switch to the ‘On’ position denoted by ‘I’ on the
switch and the red light inside the kettle will turn on to indicate that the
Kettle is in the boil cycle. Once the water has boiled, the On/Off Switch
will move to the 'Off' position denoted by ‘0’ on the switch and the light
inside the kettle will switch to blue. NOTE: If the Kettle is lifted off the
