Troubleshooting Tips

1. Ensure the device is fully charged

and has been connected to power for

at least three hours. 

3. Force restart the device by 

simultaneously pressing and holding 

the Power button and the Volume   Up

button for 12 seconds. 
4. If the buttons in the above step are

held down for more than 12 seconds, 

the device will go into recovery mode. 

If this happens, select the 

   Restart Now

optionTo scroll through selections, 

use the Volume Up/Down buttons. 

Use the Power button to make a 

selection. 
5. If the Power button or Volume

buttons are not responsive, ensure 

that the case is properly closed 

together.

If the device stops responding or 

will not power on, try the 

troubleshooting steps listed 

below, in order.

Device Troubleshooting

1. Toggle the screen on and off by 

short pressing the Power button.

 

2. Plug the device into a power 

source. If the Card Reader LED lights 

up amber or does not light up at all, 

contact Toast Support. 

3. Force Stop the Toast App by 

navigating to Apps in your device’s 

general settings, scroll to the Toast 

app, and tap Force Stop. Next, tap 

Clear Defaults. Reopen the Toast app.

Ensure that you accept both USB 

permission prompts that appear. If 

you skip the prompts, they will 

appear in the notification panel. 

4. Restart the device by pressing and

holding the Power button.

5. Uninstall and reinstall the Toast

application. The Toast App can be 

found in the Google Play Store or at 

www.toasttab.com/link/apk.

     If your

device is in Offline Mode, contact 

support before uninstalling Toast.

Test the card reader after completing 

each troubleshooting step, in order. 

Only continue troubleshooting if the 

card reader is still not functional.

Card Reader Troubleshooting

The reader is disconnected. Card 

transactions will not be processed.

The reader is active. The card reader LED will 

only light up when the device is ready for a 

card to be swiped.

Card Reader Status

The card reader status icon appears on the top left of the screen.

2. Press and hold the Power 

button until you see the Power

Menu. Select the option to 

Reboot.
