HOW TO FIT
YOUR TIPPERARY HELMET
SIZING PADS
When you first put on your helmet make sure the
thicker rear pad is in place at the back of the helmet.
Check the fit. If it is too snug, remove the thicker rear
pad and replace with the thinner rear pad. Check the
fit. If additional padding is required to snug the fit,
use the padding supplied. You my need to cut this
additional padding to help the helmet fit correctly.
For the Sportage and Sportage Toddler, insert the
pading under the rim liner. For the Sportage Hybrid,
remove the liner and insert the padding.
The helmet should stay in place without doing up the
harness.
CHIN STRAP
The harness must be comfortable around your ears.
Lengthen or shorten the strap by sliding the adjusting
buckle. The chin strap should fit snugly. It needs
to be tight enought to hold your helmet in place but
not so tight that it is uncomfortable or you feel like you
cannot swallow.
To tighten or loosen the chin strap:
•
Remove the chin strap cover
•
Slide the o-rings from the straps
•
Loosen the chin straps through the buckle and
adjust the length
•
Try on the helmet and do up the buckle. Keep
adjusting until you have the right fit
•
Place the o-rings back over the web straps
•
Replace the chin strap cover.
OVERALL FIT
A correct fit is one that is snug and comfortable,
but not loose. With a proper fit there will not be any
excessive up and down rocking movements. If the fit
is too tight, it will not be comfortable.
CHECK THE BRIM
The brim should not be more than two finger’s width
above your eyebrows. If it is any lower it may block
your vision.
