7.6.5 Seacocks
our boat includes raw water seacoc s or the engines, air conditioners, gen -
erator, raw water washdown, optional overboard waste discharge, and optional
ea eeper

yro. ee chapter or seacoc locations. pen and close all the
seacoc s monthly to ensure that they do not become sei ed. ebris and marine
growth can accumulate and hinder the proper operation o the seacoc s. they
are di ficult to operate, contact your iara achts dealer and have them serviced.
7.6.6 Raw Water Intake Strainers
he engine raw water inta es, generator raw water inta e, air conditioning raw
water inta e, and raw water washdown pump inta e are equipped with strainers.
hec the strainers each time you use the boat to assure that no debris has ac -
cumulated that may bloc the ow. ee chapter or inta e strainer locations.

1. urn the related engine or pump.
2. lose the raw water seacoc , in the hull bottom, to stop the ow o water
to the strainer.
3. emove the filter bas et cap by unscrewing it countercloc wise. span -
ner wrench has been provided or this purpose.
4. i t the filter bas et out by the top handle.
5. emove any debris rom the filter bas et and rinse with clean water.
6. se only mild soapy water to clean the sight glass.
7. hec to be sure that the ring under the cap is intact and replace i
necessary.
8. pply a water proo grease that is silicon or e on ™ based do not use
petroleum based grease to the cap threads and ring seasonally, to
assure easy cap loosening or inspections and cleaning.
9. nstall the filter bas et.
10. nstall the cap, and tighten by hand.
11. nug the cap with the spanner wrench.
12. pen the seacoc .
