6 Maintenance and Service
Protect the DMH40 from adverse weather conditions. The DMH40 is not water resistant.
Attention
To avoid damage to the instrument, do not expose it to spray, liquids or solvents!
The unit does not need regular maintenance by the user. It does not contain any modules
and/or components that could be repaired by the user himself.
Do not open the housing!
Since the optical mirror of the DMH40 is very thin and mounted on a flexible surface, it is ex-
tremely vulnerable!
Attention
The DMH40 must not be cleaned from dust using ethanol, cleaning tissue, cotton tipped applic-
ators or any other mechanical tools! Using these chemical and / or mechanical tools voids war-
ranty!
Remove dust using only oil- and water-free compressed gas, such as Thorlabs Duster CA4-US
or CA4-EU (Tetrafluoroetane). Keep the gas nozzle at least at a distance of 4 inches (10 cm)
from the mirror surface, otherwise liquid gas drops may hit the surface and leave visible traces
on the mirror surface; moreover the air pressure might damage the mirror.
