INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE - Please read carefully
General Step by Step Guidelines:
1. The horse should have its head tied up or placed in a set of cross ties. In
some cases the use of a muzzle may be required.
2. All dirt, poultice, liniments or any topically applied substances should be re-
moved prior to use.
3. Pre-warm the Leggings on the high setting for a few minutes.
4. Place the Leggings on the desired limbs (short pads on the top portion of
the legs) and secure the Velcro straps. Patience must be exercised when
doing this for the first time, as this is a strange concept for the horse to un-
derstand.
5. Keep all cords and Leggings out of reach of the horse’s mouth and feet.
6. Turn the switch on the low setting initially until the horse becomes ac-
quainted with the therapy. After a few minutes, set the switch to the high
setting for 10-15 minutes.
7. Continue the therapy at the low setting for the duration of the treatment.

When the treatment is concluded, the inside of the Leggings should be
wiped down with a mild disinfectant, dried and stored in a clean place.
9. A rigorous massage to the tendons and ligaments after therapy is ideal.
Important Safety Instructions
•
Never use the Leggings along with any type of liniment, salve or ointment.
•
Do not put on the horse and leave unattended. Check hide under the
Leggings frequently.
•
Do not immerse the Leggings cover in water unless the heat inserts and
wiring harness have been removed.
•
Do not use pins or other metallic objects to hold Legging cover in place.
•
Never use the heat inserts without yellow cover in place.
•
Periodically examine the heat inserts (PVC). Return Leggings for repair if
heat inserts show any sign of deterioration.
•
Do not fold or bend the heat inserts.
•
Do not pull the Leggings by the cord or use the cord as a handle.

There are 8 heat inserts in the Legging set, as shown; 4
long and 4 short
Each Legging has 2 of each size
The “hard side” of the heat insert should be placed in-
side the Legging cover so that the hard side is facing
towards the horse when the Leggings are in place.
Each heat insert plugs into the harness which runs
along the spine of the Legging.
