Inspect the flue draft: Presence of

constrictions in the chimney, too
many curves, poor insulation;,section
too small / clean the flue outlet/ lift
the cook top and thoroughly clean
the smoke passage and in particular
the additional heat exchanger.

Puffs of smoke issue from the top of the
heater when the door is slammed shut.

Create an adequate opening for air
