Location

The instruments are designed for use on a normal laboratory bench. See 

Figure 5-1

.

Ensure that the exhaust is correctly positioned above the LH 
compartment (flame, EC100, T-Cell or Mercury-Cell) and RH 
compartment (furnace). Make sure that the ventilation is on before 
igniting the flame, using the EC100, T-Cell or Mercury-Cell or before 
firing the furnace. Do not run any of those when the ventilation is 
turned off.

Organic or volatile solvents should not be stored, even for a short time, 
near the instrument.

Tip

Do not position the equipment so that it is difficult to operate the 

extraction, electrical supply, cooling water, purge gas and plasma gas 
controls.
