3. Once you have selected the preferred measurement mode, press to highlight GO and
press .

• If you select Direct or Corrected to SPEC 20 measurement mode you will proceed
directly to the blank measurement screen. ( Figure 49 )
• If you select User Entered Factor measurement mode, an intermediate screen
( Figure 48 ) appears for you to enter the desired factor. Follow the on-screen
directions.

4. Use a clean test-tube or cuvette containing a solution of your broth/media without
bacteria to record the blank measurement.
5. Use identical tubes or cuvettes to measure your samples.
The center of the light beam is 15 mm above the base of the test tube so you should have
at least 20 mm of sample in the tube.
