Meter Basics
Installing Batteries
Four AA batteries are included with Orion Star A220 series portable meters and are preinstalled
in the meter battery compartment. Use the following procedure to replace batteries as needed.
1. Select four new AA alkaline batteries.
2. Confirm that the meter is powered off.
3. Turn the meter over, with the meter display facing down, on a clean dry surface.
4. Loosen the two screws holding
the battery cover in place and
gently pull up the battery cover to
release it from the meter.
5. Remove the old batteries from the
battery compartment.
6. Install the new batteries in the
battery compartment, orientating
the batteries as shown in the
battery compartment housing.
7. Replace the battery compartment
cover and tighten the two screws to secure the battery cover with the meter.
8. Turn the meter over, with the meter display facing up, and power on the meter.
