 Remote Start Cable 

Remote start cables are used with Hardware Inject Synchronization. This 

allows the autosampler or another modules to send a hardware signal 
to the MS to tell it to start acquiring at the beginning of a run. Hardware 
Inject Synchronization is optional and not used by default. 

The MS includes an “LC/IC Start” port that can be used for hardware 

synchronization of the run start.

The Start Port consists of a 6-pin mini DIN connector. The pins are used as 

described in Table 18.

The MS default polarity is to start on an active low signal (pulled to ground to indicate 
start of run). In instrument configuration, this can be changed to active high. You must 
configure the autosampler or other modules to output the start signal with the same 
polarity. Be sure to set the duration of the start signal to 2 s or so.
