Venting the Mass Spectrometer 

Follow the procedure below to vent the mass spectrometer. 

1)

 

Disconnect the data system from the instrument in Chromeleon 
software. 

2)

 

Push the power button at the back of the instrument down to the off 
position to power off the mass spectrometer. See Figure 89.

Wait 5 minutes. 

4)

 

Loosen the vent valve knob inside the front door of the instrument next 
to the source housing. See Figure 90.
