Replacing Components of the Analyzer

Thermo Scientific

ISQ 7000 Hardware Manual

Quadrupole



To replace the quadrupole:

1. Shut down your system by following the steps in

“Shutting Down the ISQ 7000 System”

page 149

2. Remove the analyzer tray from the instrument by following the instructions in

“Removing the Analyzer Tray from the ISQ 7000 Instrument”

page 151

3. Remove the screws from the exit endcap.

4. Remove the entire quadrupole, as well as the exit endcap, from the analyzer tray.

5. Slide the quadrupole rods off the exit endcap.

6. Remove the exit endcap from the rods.

7. Attach the quadrupole wires to the new quadrupole rods.

8. Attach the exit endcap to the rods.

9. Slide the new rods and exit endcap onto the ion guide and entrance endcap on the tray.
