1 - Positioning screw
The anti-diffusion blade has to be positioned just above the sample. The goal of this blade is
to limit the X-Ray signal diffused by the slits. This will reduce the background, especially in
small 2θ angles.
The beam stop has to be positioned in order to intercept the X -Ray beam path. This will avoid
the direct X-Ray beam to reach the detector in the case of transmission measurements or
grazing incidence measurements.
4.6 Front Panel
There is a panel with an emergency stop button, a "Power ON" button and a "Power OFF"
button located on the front of the instrument. The "Light" button is used to turn ON the light
inside the enclosure when the door is closed. Please, see the section Operation on page
for further information.
4.7 Connections Inside the ARL EQUINOX 5000/5500
The power supply plug for the spinning sample holder, the selector switch with the key for
maintenance and the vacuum connections to mirror are located below the sample area.
