2. Open the bleed valve on the thermostat
housing (see Figure 171). Continue to fill the
expansion tank until coolant begins to come
out of the bleed valve.
3. Close the bleed valve and continue to fill the
expansion tank until coolant is up to the
overflow tank inlet passage opening (see
Figure 170).
4. To remove all air trapped in the cooling
system use a Spill-Free Funnel. This coolant
fill tool can be procured locally. We
recommend the Lisle 24680 or similar tool.

1. Bring coolant up to this level.

CAUTION: Running the unit with the
radiator cap removed and without the
Spill-Free Funnel will cause significant
coolant from the bypass tube to overflow
the coolant tank.
