2.
Prepare cabinet or soffit by tapping holes for mounting
filter housings. Figure 2 and Figure 3 show the top view of
the VCH36 and VCH54 respectively. Each figure shows
mounting hole locations, overall size of filter housing
mounting plate, and required clearance for the transition.
See Figure 4 for the clearance required for the PLENUM
transition in the VCH54 installation.
3.
Attach transition to filter housing and seal with duct tape.
The VCH36 requires the VCHTR10 transition. The VCH54
requires the VCHTR10 and PLENUM transitions.
4.
Attach filter housing to prepare cabinet/soffit surface
using wood screws provided. The installation requires two
people due to the size of the unit.
5. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS VCH36 for VCH54
A) Power supply must be rated for 120V, 60Hz, 15
amps (minimum).
B) Remove junction box cover. Connect black wire #2 to
power supply black wire. Connect white wire #1 to power
supply white wire. Connect green ground wire to power
supply green wire. Use spring type wire nuts (BSH #189692)
supplied. (Lost or missing wire nuts should only be
replaced with: Spring type wire nuts, rated for a minimum
of (2) #18ga wires and a maximum of (4) #14ga wires, UL
& CSA rated to 600V and 302F/150). See Wiring Diagram,
Fig. 5.
C) Be sure that junction box cover is replaced properly.
D) The light switch must be UL listed general switch and is
supplied by the electical contractor.
6.

WARNING: TO RE-
DUCE THE RISK OF FIRE,
ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR IN-
JURY TO PERSONS, OB-
SERVE THE FOLLOWING:
H. Install this hood in accordance with all
requirements specified by the manufac-
turer of your cooktop/range
WARNING - TO REDUCE THE RISK
OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE:
A. Never leave surface units unattened at high
settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy
spillovers that may ignite. Heat oils slowly on low
or medium settings.
B. Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat
or when cooking flaming foods.
C. Clean ventilating fans frequently. Grease should
not be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter.
