WHAT’S HAPPENING
You can use the ellipsograph to
draw a perfect ellipse on a piece of
paper. The arm motion is
constrained along two
perpendicular tracks, causing the
tip of the arm where the marker
is attached to always follow an
elliptical path. The suction cups
hold the ellipsograph in place.
