This product is exclusively intended for the range
of application described above.

Unauthorised repairs, alterations or changes to
the product are prohibited.

This product is not be used for medical purpose.
Caution!
Risk of injury!
•
Wear heat-resistant protective gloves when
touching the hot probe, for example during or
after cooking.
Risk of burns!
•
Be careful when handling the pointed probe.
•
Keep this device and the battery out of reach of
children.
•
Batteries contain harmful acids and may be haz-
ardous if swallowed. If a battery is swallowed,
this can lead to serious internal burns and death
within two hours. If you suspect a battery could
have been swallowed or otherwise caught in the
body, seek medical help immediately.
•
Batteries must not be thrown into a fire, short-
circuited, taken apart or recharged.
Risk of
explosion!
•
Low batteries should be changed as soon as pos-
sible to prevent damage caused by leaking. Make
sure the polarities are correct.
•
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous mem-
branes when handling leaking batteries. In case
of contact, immediately rinse the affected areas
with water and consult a doctor.
Important information
on product safety!
•
Do not expose the device to extreme tempera-
tures, vibrations or shocks.
•
Do not use the instrument in the microwave,
oven or grill.
•
The display unit can only be operated within a
temperature range from 0°C…50°C.
•
Only the probe is heat resistant up to 300 °C.
•
Never hold the probe directly over a fire.
•
Do not immerse the display unit and the connec-
tor in water. Water can penetrate and cause mal-
function. Not suitable for dishwasher.
•
Do not bend the probe!

6. Getting started and use
•
Remove the protective film from the display.
•
Plug the probe connector into the jack. Make
sure the polarities are correct.
•
To measure the temperature, insert the probe at
least 2 cm into the object.
•
Press the
ON/HOLD
button.
•
The current temperature is seen.
•
To activate the hold function, press the
ON/HOLD
button.
•
HOLD appears on the display. The actual mea-
sured temperature remains on the display.
•
Press the
°C/°F
button in the HOLD mode to
change between °C (Celsius) or °F (Fahrenheit)
as temperature unit.
•
In the HOLD mode, the device will turn off auto-
matically after 15 seconds.
•
To deactivate the HOLD function, press again the
ON/HOLD button.
•
The device will turn off automatically after
approx. 4 minutes.
•
Use the integrated magnet at the back of the
device to place it on metal surfaces.
7. Care and maintenance
•
Clean the device with a soft damp cloth. Do not
use solvents or scouring agents.
•
Remove the battery if you do not use the device
for a long period of time.
•
Store the device in a dry place.
•
Should water or steam enter the device’s jack, it
could affect the contact with the probe. Dry the
probe connector with a cloth before connecting it
to your instrument.
7.1 Battery replacement
•
The battery symbol is permanently shown on the
display.

•
Make sure the unit is powered off before chang-
ing the battery.
•
Open the battery compartment by turning the lid
to the left using a coin and insert a new battery
CR 2032 (+pole above).
•
Close the battery compartment by turning the lid
to the right.

9. Waste disposal
This product and its packaging have been manufac-
tured using high-grade materials and components
which can be recycled and reused. This reduces waste
and protects the environment. Dispose of the packag-
ing in an environmentally friendly manner using the
collection systems that have been set up.
Disposal of the electrical device
Remove non-permanently installed
batteries and rechargeable batteries
from the device and dispose of them
separately.
This product is labelled in accor-
dance with the EU Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment Directive
(WEEE).
This product must not be disposed
of in ordinary household waste. As a
consumer, you are required to take
end-of-life devices to a designated
collection point for the disposal of
electrical and electronic equipment,
in order to ensure environmentally-
compatible disposal. The return ser-
vice is free of charge. Observe the
current regulations in place!

Disposal of the batteries
Never dispose of empty batteries and
rechargeable batteries with ordinary
household waste. They contain pollu-
tants such as heavy metals, which
can be harmful to the environment
and human health if disposed of
improperly, and valuable raw mate-
rials such as iron, zinc, manganese
or nickel that can be recovered from
waste.
As a consumer, you are required by
law to take them to your retail store
or to an appropriate collection site
depending on national or local regu-
lations in order to protect the envi-
ronment. The return service is free of
charge. You can obtain addresses of
suitable collection points from your
city council or local authority.
The symbols for the contained heavy
metals are:
Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead.
Reduce the generation of waste from
batteries by using batteries with a
longer lifespan or suitable recharge-
able batteries. Avoid littering the
environment and do not leave batter-
ies or battery-containing electrical
and electronic devices lying around
carelessly. The separate collection
and recycling of batteries and
rechargeable batteries make an
important contribution to relieving
the impact on the environment and
avoiding health risks.
