One dual-output dc power supply (

One single-output dc power supply (5 V, 1 A output minimum). This power
supply is used to activate the power-down function of the EVM, and will
be referred to in the text of this document as the power-down supply.

Two dc current meters with resolution to 1 mA and capable of the
maximum current the dc power supply can supply.

Power Supply Connection (Refer to Figure 2−1)
1) Set the dual dc power supply to
±
5 V. If available, set the current limit on
the dc power supply to 100 mA.
2) Make sure the dual dc power supply is turned off before proceeding to the
next step.
3) Connect the positive (+) terminal of the power supply to the positive (+)
terminal of the current meter number 1.
4) Connect the negative (–) terminal of the current meter number 1 to +VS
(J8).
5) Connect the common ground terminal of the power supply to GND (J7).
6) Connect the negative (–) terminal of the power supply to the negative (–)
terminal of the second current meter.
7) Connect the positive (+) terminal of the current meter number 2 to –VS
(J5).
8) Set the power-down supply to –5 Vdc, turn it off.
9) Connect the negative (−) terminal of the power down supply to GND (J7).
10) Connect the positive (+) terminal of the power down supply to power down
(TP2).
