2 Analog Interface
As an analog interface, the evaluation board uses fully differential amplifiers (FDAs) to drive the ADS9218 input
signals. The ADS9218 includes an integrated voltage reference, but an external reference can be used and is
jumper selectable on the hardware. This section covers driver details, including jumper configuration for different
input signal options.
2.1 ADS9218 Device Connections
The digital communications lines for the ADC (shown in
) all follow the low-voltage differential
signaling (LVDS) standard and are connected with optional termination resistors. A digital serial peripheral
interface (SPI) port is used to configure registers in the device. The SDO output line includes a termination.
