6. Connecting the loudspeakers
U
High Level Input/Output
Use these speaker sockets to connect the sub-
woofer to a conventional stereo amplifier without
a dedicated subwoofer output. Do not connect
anything here if you are using a multi-channel AV
receiver with a Sub Out.
I
Power
OFF means that the subwoofer is switched off; ON
means that it is switched on.
Note:
The mains power fuse is located under-
neath the mains power switch.
subwoofer only activates once it detects a signal at
its line input. After 20 minutes of inactivity, the sub-
woofer automatically switches itself off again.
When the switch is set to “ON”, automatic triggering
is disabled, i.e., the subwoofer is permanently on – or
permanently off, if the mains power switch is off.
T
THX
If you are running a surround sound signal with
a fixed THX crossover frequency, set this switch
to “THX”.
If you are running the subwoofer off a conven-
tional stereo amplifier, set the switch to “Variable
Frequency Control”, which lets you select an ap-
propriate crossover frequency.
Y
Line Input/Output
Connect the AV receiver's “Sub Out” to the sub-
woofer's “Line Input” using a mono or stereo
cinch cable. With the “Line Output”, you can daisy-
chain a second subwoofer into your system for
added bass or to compensate for resonant fre-
quencies in the room.
To take full advantage of your LT 6 THX Select Sys-
tem with M 7100 Active Subwoofer, set the satel-
lite speakers to “small” or “normal” (not “large”)
in the “Speaker Setup” section of your AV receiver.
This ensures that the speakers receive the right
amount of signal, and that the subwoofer and
front speakers have matching volumes.
Also in the receiver's “Speaker Setup” section
(Bass Management/Speaker Management), make
sure the subwoofer is set to “On”. Set the crosso-
ver frequency for the LT 6 to 80 Hz.
