Description
The Dorsalex AFO prevents a pes equinus
position of the foot, and helps control
the ankle joint with a bilateral frame.
The AFO‘s predefined flexibility creates a
harmonic gait pattern. The orthoses
come preassembled, are lightweight and,
thanks to their design, are not noticeable
when worn. They are available in different
stiffnesses and sizes, and can be thermo-
formed and individually adjusted.
Indication
• Weakened dorsiflexion of the foot
• Follow-up treatment of apoplexy
• Peroneal paralysis without spasticity
Contraindication
• Pronounced supination of ankle
(e.g. due to spasticity)
Function
• Prevention of pes equinus when
the Dorsalex AFO is combined with
a closed shoe, according to the
three-point-principle.
• Reduction of the functional elongation
of the leg and reduction of
compensatory, non-physiological
motion patterns.
