  FITTING BATTERIES

Unclip the battery cover latches (under the radio) and 

1. 

remove the battery cover.
Fit  one  ‘D’/’UM1’  battery  into  the  lower  battery 

2. 

compartment, observing polarity as shown.
Fit  2  x  ‘D’/’UM1’  batteries  into  the  upper  battery 

3. 

compartment, observing polarity as shown.
Re-fit the battery cover.

4. 

FITTING BATTERIES

Referring to the previous section, fit 3 x ‘D’/’UM1’ batteries 
into the battery compartment.

POWER CONTROL
To turn the radio on:

Turn up the

VOLUME CONTROL

.

The power indicator will light and the radio will switch on.

  BATTERY OPERATION

To turn the radio off:

Turn the

 down until ‘0’ shows in the 

Volume level indicator window.

The radio will switch off.

  AC MAINS OPERATION

CONNECTING POWER

Check that the mains voltage marked on the rating plate

on  the  back  panel  is  the  same  as  the  voltage  in  your 
area.
Plug the AC power cord into the AC inlet

• 

Plug the mains plug into the wall socket and switch the 

• 

mains  power on.

Dispose  of  used  batteries  with  regard  to  the  recycling 
regulations  in  your  area.  Do  NOT  short  circuit  batteries  or 
throw them into water, the general rubbish or in a fire.
Weak batteries can leak and damage the radio. Replace them 
in good time!
