Points to remember when operating your Percolator:
Disposable filters if used should be specially made for coffee makers

- Tesco stores stock a range of suitable filters. Use size 4 (10-12 cups).
Make sure you use coffee specially ground for filter use.

NEVER use the coffee maker hotplate to warm drinks such as baby
•
milk, etc.
CLEANING
Switch off and unplug the unit from the mains supply.
Allow the appli-
ance to cool down fully.
Wipe the body with a clean damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaner, creams
or scourers. Never immerse the appliance in water when cleaning.
Wash the coffee carafe by hand in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and
dry well.
Thoroughly rinse the percolator plastic filter and holder several times in
clean water and allow to dry. Avoid strong detergents or solvents or the
taste of your coffee may be affected.
When all components are dry return them to their places in the appliance.
For convenience you may store the measuring spoon in the carafe.
DESCALING THE PERCOLATOR
Use a descaler recommended for Coffee Makers.

” level (approx.1.25L)
The proportion of water and descaler is 4:1, (or as directed in the
descaler instructions). Close the lid.
Place the carafe centrally on the hotplate. The spring valve in the

filter holder should engage with the aperture in the carafe lid. Press
the ON/OFF switch. The switch will light up showing the unit is
operational.
The water will now percolate through the filter and into the carafe.

When the equivalent of one cup has entered the carafe, switch the

machine off. Leave the solution to work for 15 minutes
Repeat steps of 4-6 once more.

After the second operation, switch the appliance on and run off the

water until the water tank is completely empty. Empty the carafe.
Rinse the appliance by operating the brewing cycle using fresh water

at least 3 times.
Switch the machine off, empty the carafe, wash it thoroughly in

warm soapy water and rinse it well.
When all the components are dry return them to their places in the

appliance.
