Installation in Windows XP, Vista 32 and Vista 64
This chapter may strike you as very short, but installing the webcam is really very easy thanks
to its architecture. Simply plug the USB cable into a free USB 2.0 port on your system. Connect
the TerraCam X2 directly to your desktop or notebook PC to avoid the power supply and data
throughput issues that frequently arise when using a USB hub. Windows will recognize the
new hardware and will display a message over the system tray indicating that a new device,
the “TerraTec TerraCam X2” and a “USB audio device” were found. All of the required system
components will now be installed automatically by the operating system. After a few seconds,
another message will be displayed, indicating that the hardware was successfully installed
and is ready to use.
The installation was completed successfully.
To ensure that the installation completed successfully, open the Device Manager (“Windows
key” + “Pause”

“Device Manager”). Expand the “Sound, video and game
controllers” and the “Imaging devices branches”. If a USB audio device and a USB video de-
vice are present, the installation was successful.
