Introduction
This manual provides installation and operating instructions that pertain to both the plastic and stainless steel Smart®
Desiccator.
2.0
Description
The Smart® Desiccator extends shelf lives of stored materials by automatically maintaining the internal humidity level
you select.
It maintains dry storage conditions by controlling the
flow of dry purge gas, generally nitrogen, into the
cabinet. A space-saving LED display continuously
monitors the %RH (relative humidity) inside the
chamber. After you enter a humidity set point, the
Smart® Desiccator turns the flow of nitrogen on and
off to maintain the set point without wasting nitrogen.
This smart control system cuts nitrogen costs up to
78% when compared to flow meter gas delivery
systems. Terra’s Automatic RB (Relief/Bleed) Valve
relieves system overpressures that could damage
door seals.
