Configuration
TX001-00-00 Rev 101 QuickSilver DV202S Video Transmitter
Configuration
The Transmitter and CRU must be properly configured prior to use. This section explains the details of
connecting alarm, relay, and audio functions to external devices. The Transmitter and CRU will be discussed
together throughout this section. The configuration of these units will require the following activity.
•
Some light assembly and disassembly.
•
The wiring, and soldering, of unit terminal blocks and connectors.
•
The installation and connection of external devices.
Using Alarm Inputs
Transmitter
There are 6 onboard alarm inputs in the Transmitter that can be used to trigger an event and begin the dialup
routine to send pictures back to the Receiver. These inputs are normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC),
but not both. The alarm inputs are located on the terminal strip of the main board at the right side with respect
to the back and labeled S1 - S6. Refer to Figure 24 for a typical alarm setup. To setup the alarm inputs
perform the following steps.
1. Remove the 4 screws on
the sides of the
Transmitter and lift the
cover to expose the main
board.
2. Route all alarm cables
through the rear panel
passage holes to their
corresponding alarm
input Terminal Block
connections (S1 - S6) on
the Transmitter. Install
each cable into its correct
Terminal Block screw.
Each input requires two
connections, an S
connection and a return
to the ground (GND)
screw terminal. Refer to
Figure 26. Alarm connections S1 - S6 correspond to
Receiver Software Camera numbers. For example,
Terminal Block position S1 corresponds to Receiver
Software Camera 1.
3. Connect the remaining end of each cable to a suitable
detector. Determine whether the detector is a NO or NC
type. Record the detector and its type for future reference.
4. For each input to properly function and to eliminate false
alarms from external noise sources, it is required to install
a provided 1K
Ω
to the terminal strip. The connection of
the resistor is dependant upon the type of detector that is
used. Refer to Figure 25.
